Sam Thomas joined the Ashford-Memphis Tennessee team in January 2024 as a Financial Representative. He entered the financial services industry because he had a desire to help his clientele, friends, and family grow and protect their wealth, save for retirement, and protect them from the many financial risks life often presents.
Prior to joining Ashford, Sam worked for Newtco Roofing & Restoration in Arlington, Tennessee. In his role there, he was able to help homeowners qualify for full roof replacements, as well as any general construction to make their house become a home. He helped give his clients peace of mind in knowing their home was in good repair, much like the peace his clients at Ashford gain, while knowing he has their financial interest at heart.
Before moving to Tennessee, Sam was the General Manager of an Italian Restaurant, “Venice Kitchen” in Oxford, MS. In this role, he was able to help the company grow its revenue, as well as work with local chefs and sports teams to provide quality service and outstanding Italian cuisine. He is especially proud of his part in growing the restaurants revenues by $2.5 million.
Although born in Davenport, Iowa, he was raised in Jackson, Mississippi, thus he claims Jackson as his hometown. While in high school at Jackson Academy, he was a four-sport athlete, playing football, baseball, basketball, and running track. While in college, he coached youth baseball, and aspires to coach again in Memphis. In all his seasons of coaching kids between 12-15 years old, He and his teams never lost a game.
Sam stands by the viewpoint, “Do the right thing, even if no one is watching.”
Sam views his father as his most influential person, having shown he and his two brother how to work hard, take care of family, and show respect and kindness to others. In his spare time, Sam enjoys family trips to Florida with his parents and siblings.
