Peter Bourg entered the financial services industry to pursue two of his greatest interests—helping others and studying finance. He joined Ashford Advisors in 2008, recognizing an opportunity to practice what he is passionate about while making a meaningful impact in the lives of his clients. Driven to increase awareness of fundamental financial principles that are often not taught in school, Peter is dedicated to educating his clients so they can make well-informed financial decisions.
Peter applies a holistic approach to financial planning, working closely with clients to simplify their financial lives and identify potential blind spots. “People already face enough stress in their daily lives, and finances often add to that. My goal is to bring clarity, organization, and peace of mind to their financial picture,” he shares.
His comprehensive process includes detailed research and analysis of each client’s complete financial landscape. With this broad and in-depth understanding, Peter identifies opportunities to build and protect wealth while helping to minimize taxes and expenses. He carefully coordinates the many components of his clients’ financial strategies to create an environment that is conservative yet adaptable.
Originally from France, Peter has lived in the Atlanta area since 1997. He and his wife, Jamie, were married in 2008 and have two sons, Liam and Charlie. Peter is actively involved with Liam’s NASA Tophat Soccer Club as Team Manager and participates in Charlie’s Cub Scout Troop. He and Jamie are avid runners who have completed several half-marathons. Peter also regularly competes in the 29029 Everesting Challenge, an endurance event in which participants hike the vertical equivalent of Mount Everest (29,029 feet) in under 36 hours. Additionally, he is a passionate Georgia Tech fan.
