Janon Busby is a Financial Representative with Ashford Advisors in Memphis, Tennessee, where he is committed to helping individuals, families, and business owners build confidence in their financial future. His passion for financial services stems from a desire to educate others on financial concepts that are often overlooked and to help clients develop strategies that align with their unique goals and aspirations.
Janon brings a diverse professional background spanning leadership, operations, and client service. Before joining Ashford Advisors, he held management roles across several industries, including Restaurant Manager at Memphis Country Club, General Manager with Aaron's Sales and Lease, Regional Manager with Iron Maintenance, and Financial Representative with Northwestern Mutual. These experiences strengthened his leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to delivering exceptional service qualities that now benefit his service with his clients.
A lifelong believer in the value of discipline and perseverance, Janon earned an associate’s degree in Sports Medicine from Wallace State Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Leisure Studies from the University of Memphis. As a collegiate track and field athlete, he captured multiple Conference USA Triple Jump championships while competing for the University of Memphis after beginning his athletic career at Wallace State. The determination and work ethic he developed through athletics continue to shape his approach to serving clients today.
Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Janon has called Memphis home for the past twenty years. He and his wife, Shana, are proud parents of two children, Janon Jr. and Jordyn. Athletics remain an important part of their family life, with a shared passion for track and field spanning multiple generations. His son serves as the team manager for the track program at Alabama A&M University, while his daughter competes in both cheerleading and track at Bartlett High School.
Outside of work, Janon enjoys bowling, playing pool, going to the movies, drawing, and, most importantly, spending quality time with his family. He is a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and values opportunities to serve and connect with his community.
Janon credits his parents as his greatest inspiration for instilling the values that have guided his personal and professional life. One quote that continues to motivate him is from Joe Girard: "The elevator to success is out of order. You'll have to take the stairs, one step at a time." This philosophy reflects his belief that meaningful success is built through consistency, hard work, and dedication, principles he strives to bring to every client relationship.
