My overall investment philosophy is consistent with the requirement that fiduciaries apply generally accepted investment theories, and the most generally accepted is Modern Portfolio Theory. I therefore select investments from asset classes that are not highly correlated: equities, fixed income, and money market or stable value products and provide enhanced diversification so that all sub-asset classes identified in LPL’s Portfolio Style Report are represented adequately.
No investment strategy assures a profit or protects against loss. There is no guarantee that a diversified portfolio will enhance overall returns or outperform a non-diversified portfolio. Diversification does not protect against market risk.
