Equity Compensation & Taxes | What Employees Should Know

September 07, 2023

My goal with this video and checklist is to give you the knowledge and tools you need to better understand your equity compensation as well as a framework for how to make decisions on your RSUs as part of your financial plan. Our role as financial advisors is not to tell you what to do but to provide you with knowledge and guidance to make informed decisions so that you can truly understand your wealth & what you have.

Your company provides you with information, which is great, but they have a fiduciary duty to the company, not to you. There is also a big difference between information and strategy - I touch on both.

Why Equity Comp?

The premise is for companies to grant equity to employees: tying your work ethic as an employee to the company’s revenue, output & stock price.  Aligning the employee’s incentives to the company’s.

I cover the two most common forms of equity comp: Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Non-Qualified Stock Options (NSOs or NQSOs), as well as Employee Stock Options (ESOs), and tax strategy in this video.

I would advise you to watch the video, review this checklist ⬇️, and schedule a call so we can review your equity compensation options at your earliest convenience.

It is important that a financial advisor looks over your investment and tax strategy because your financial situation is unique to you. If you would like me to look over your equity compensation, please schedule a FREE call (with no obligation)!
