Be Present in Your Life

April 16, 2020

If I'm being honest with myself, I have been crying out for change for a long time - and I know I'm not alone.

I've had a hard time being content with the present. Having such a busy life as most do - I haven't been able to "be still" and search from within to think about what "I" truly want. I'm always searching for more external sources of happiness.

The change that I needed has arrived in the past several weeks. Before this change, I didn't have time or space to discover this. My travel for conferences and vacations has been canceled. I don't have any practices or games for the kids to go to all throughout the week. No birthday parties or gatherings to plan- a lot of things that are happening are currently out of our control... Meaning complete surrender.

This recent change has given me time to "be still" and let loose of control and realize my life will still go on just fine.

I choose to move forward without the worry, the fear, and anxiety that everything has to be perfect - diet, kids homework, house cleaning- just not enough time in the day!

The most important task that I have every day going forward is to embrace each and every moment (good or bad) knowing that I'm safe and secure and my happiness comes from within.

I know that a lot of people are going through incredibly difficult changes at the moment- I pray that everyone can search for the positives in their situations. Finding these positives may take some work on your part to "be still" and do some self reflection.

I think that meditation is a great tool to help with self-discovery.

I love this guided meditation from Sarah Blondin on change.

Think of this as a 10-minute investment in your day!
